Meet The Artists

Christel Perkins

My name is Christel Perkins. I have been tattooing since 2009. I opened Ginkgo Tree Tattoo in 2022 to create a safe space for all those with an open mind to feel welcome and appreciated. I’ve always been drawn to art in its many forms. I moved from my childhood home in Wyoming to pursue my BFA in Painting at RMCAD in Denver, after which I apprenticed to tattoo under Ryan Deppe. I found my passion in tattooing. I enjoy exploring a multitude of art expressions across different media, culture, and times. My tattoos recreate and sample from historical fine art portraiture and realism, decorative arts, illustration, woodblock and engraving techniques, graphic design, and traditional tattoo styles. I specialize in botanical illustration, art nouveau, realism, portraits, illustrative, Japanese, and neotraditional styles of tattooing. I enjoy a broad spectrum of styles, but my greatest fulfillment comes from establishing a bond with my clients and working with them to create unique and meaningful pieces they can enjoy for years to come. While the artwork is important, I acknowledge tattooing’s capacity for empowerment, healing, memorializing, self expression, and joy, and strive to offer each client a holistic experience.

Shiv Tuck

My name is Siobhan or Shiv (they/them), and I have been tattooing in Fort Collins since 2014. After earning a BFA in Creative Writing from Colorado State University, I took my creative and artistic endeavors into the world of tattooing and completed an apprenticeship before embarking on my career.

Like many people, I find a great depth of inspiration in my intersecting identities, so being queer and transgender informs my view of the world, the art I create, and the communities that I serve. My goal in life is to help people use art to express their most authentic self and to share that with their communities, great and small.

Artistically, I create in many different styles but find the most enjoyment in illustrative, full-color pieces as well as linework and some realism, especially animals. I am also currently focusing artistic projects to include Japanese style. I understand that every person expresses themselves most authentically in a space they feel seen and respected in, so I strive to offer a safe space for all identities and continue my education as an ally for marginalized groups I am not part of.

I would love to make a beautiful tattoo with you, so get in touch!
